About the Event
A collaborative Indigenous contemporary pop up dance performance exploring the connecting threads between us. Weaving intersectional spaces Alesha Mehta, Chanwyn Southgate, and Jade Whaanga explore threading ancestral wisdom, finding the meeting places between cultures & creative expression. Supported by Taonga Pūoro soundscape designed by Jake Kīanō Skinner. Taking place in the public spaces, engaging communities with cultural performing arts & promoting unity. Through the connectivity to indigenous roots, bridging our inner & outer worlds, sound, ritual, healing & reclaiming of identity, unity & empowerment are brought to fruition.
Performances are 15minutes long presented at 3 parks (Henderson Park, West Auckland - Ernie’s Reserve, Pukekohe - Takapuna Beach Reserve Playground, Northshore).
